I have used Shiseido's "classic" Zen fragrance since the early 70s. At that time, it was just known as Zen. To this day it is my favorite scent. It disappeared for a while, but thankfully, has returned. There is another Zen, but it is nothing like the classic in the black bottle. The classic Zen is very woodsy and warm. Soft, not overpowering. An added plus: the scent lasts. I've never needed to reapply it during the day. If you like warm, sweet sandalwood, you will love Zen.

This scent has just a touch of the haunting fragrance of incense from my memories of Buddhist temples in Japan. Light, not overpowering, but awakening the senses and awakening the mind. This perfume has been hard for me to find, so I cherish it when I can get it. If you love the mystical temples where the spirit of the Buddha within all of us is revitalized, you will love this perfume. Gassho.
