5 out of 5 stars delightful fresh scent - hard to find anywhere else   January 30, 2010

15 yrs or so ago... Thom and I just gotten into London after a stressful visit with some friends in Ireland who were going mad (simply MAD, I tell you!) and, just after checking in at our hotel, I wandered to the gift shop, where my eyes tripped through the troughs of tacky trinkets for tourists; models of little red phone boxes and double decker buses and such...and then I found the Taylor of London freesia products-

I am sensitive to strong perfumes and do not appreciate heavy scents... I took a sniff, and with much pleasure, bought a bottle of bath gel and some fine powder, headed up to our suite and washed all the stress down the drain. I felt like a new woman... the scent of the freesia is delicate and light - and absolutely refreshing. I know my memories of that trip to London were enhanced by the feeling of calm comfort this product brought to me. Before we left, I purchased some lotion and the eau de toilette spray as well.

Taylor of London's freesia has been a part of my daily routine for 15 yrs or so - and it has been a challenge to find these products in the states. I am delighted to it is now selling here on Amazon!

3 out of 5 stars freesia spray   November 9, 2006

For those of you who know the wonderful fragrance of Freesia flowers, you will be disappointed by this spray. I have tried many scents and cannot find one to match the flowers in my garden. This spray does not smell much like the flower, however it does have a lovely fragrance.

1 out of 5 stars If not the orange label, don't bother...   October 3, 2006

I ADORED this perfume before Taylor of London changed it. When it had the orange label (as shown here) it was perfection, especially for a freesia lover like me. But, unfortunately, the newer bottles (purple or flowered label) smell harsh, like the amt of alcohol has been increased or something; there's a very alcoholy after-smell and it ruins this otherwise wonderful scent. I'm guessing Taylor of London redesigned both the packaging AND the scent--and what a shame! It was perfect as it was.

I see here on Amazon they're showing the orange-labeled product, but I've ordered via Amazon before and got the newer version of the label/scent so I don't know if they've just not updated the product pic, or what. If you love freesia (and can get some of the orange-label of this eau de toilette) I think you'll love it as much as I do. I found a place that had a few of the old bottles left and I bought them all just so I could have the orig scent (which I'd give 10 STARS if I could)! Somehow the oakmoss and patchouli enhance the freesia scent without being noticeable themselves. It's just a very feminine, flowery (of course!), delicate smell. In my travels, I've not found a better version of freesia. But, if you get the other version(s), my condolences! ;)

I wish Taylor of London made a perfume, too, so that the scent would last longer and that they'd stop messing with a good thing.
