Customer Reviews: Not Your Wives Tabu... October 14, 2009 Ambergris (New England.....USA) Quite a few years ago I came across some bottles of Tabu cologne at a local Christmas Tree Shop. They had a whole shelf full of them at a fraction of what it could be found for elsewhere. Knowing my wife had told me some time ago that she liked the Tabu scent, (see.....some men do listen to what their wife says), I picked up two bottles for her. She ended up finding my lovable good deed such a steal that she dispatched me once again back to the shop to pick up a couple more bottles for her. Needless to say she was set for quite a few years to come in the Tabu sense. Especially since she wasn't one to use neither the same, nor any perfume everyday. Just about 4 months ago she went out and bought a bottle of the same brand and size of this one offered on Amazon. We noticed that the new bottles cologne was lighter in color than the original we had. However we contributed that to our old stock being quite a few years older by now. Unfortunately that harmless theory was proven to be completely without merit. The new cologne bottle was not only much more expensive that what we paid at the Christmas Tree Shop, but more importantly, it was a ghost of its former self quality wise. The new bottles color was much lighter for it was flat out cheaper stuff. Its scent was no where near as strong, and it lasted but a mere fraction of the time the old bottles did. One of the things my wife liked about Tabu was its staying power. It would last practically all day. We were lucky if the new cologne lasted until we arrived at wherever we were going. In short, it is possible that we got hold of a bad bottle somehow. Maybe a worker at the factory was having a bad day and took it out on this one, or perhaps it was just a very rare mistake in the blend. In any event, all I can tell you is that this new Tabu was no where near as strong or as long lasting as the blend bought years ago. All of the bottles at the store were of the lighter color as the one we purchased. Personally I feel that somewhere along the way Tabu decided to save some money and make a cheaper blend of this fine perfume. I would not recommend buying this cologne/perfume here or anywhere else, if you are someone that remembers its strength and scent well from years ago. If you are a new time buyer I would not recommend it either for it is my opinion, (and my wifes) very weak. My feeling is that no matter what your experience is with it, you will end up being disappointed...
Bug Spray March 6, 2010 Sherrod theTeacher (Dallas, Texas United States) Was expecting something great considering it's been around since 1932. It's loud and cheap -- I threw it out.
